Simon Whitehead - Director


Simon Whitehead has been the licensee for Coerver Coaching Minnesota and Wisconsin since 1993. Since emigrating to the United States in 1986, he has conducted thousands of soccer camps and clinics for both coaches and players. He holds a B.Ed Honors degree in Physical Education from Exeter University (St. Luke’s College ), and M.Sc Degree in Physical Education from Iowa State University.

Simon is an English FA trained coach, but has done most of his coaching here in Minnesota. He has been a Physical Education and Health Teacher since 1979 and currently teaches at Minneapolis Southwest High School. Having coached high school, club, and college soccer in both England and the USA, he is well aware of the needs of the American youth soccer player and has devoted his coaching philosophy to the Coerver Method. Since becoming a high school coach in 1989, he has lead boys and girls teams to 10 State Tournaments and two Championship Games, and 300+ wins on the field. He is currently the head Girls Coach at Southwest High School. He spends much of the winter coaching in Minnesota’s domes and soccer facilities and running day camps in the summer, as well as the Coerver Crush overnight camp at St. Olaf. Simon hosted three Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma Courses with Charlie Cooke in Minnesota as well as the Wisconsin Youth Diploma in April 2013.

Simon is married to Lynne Whitehead, and has 19 year old twins Michaela and Kirby. His hobbies include Musky Fishing and occasionally playing “Old Boys Rugby”

Latcho Kostadinov
 

Latcho Kostadinov has been the Summer Camp Director and a Senior Staff Coach for the last 10 years. He hails from Bulgaria where he played professionally for CSKA Sofia. He has a vast knowledge of soccer and great experience with youth soccer in Minnesota and Iowa. Latcho has his USSF E, D and C Licenses , NSCAA National, Advance National and Premier Diplomas Coerver Youth Diploma Level 1. 2012 Assistant Coach of the year Girls Class AA Section 5




Alex Malik

Alex is from Stillwater, MN and has had a passion and enthusiasm for soccer since he was able to dribble a ball. Graduating from Stillwater Area High School he went on to attend Kansas State. Alex has coaching diplomas with the NSCAA and is continually growing as a coach by furthering his coaching education.

Todd Dusosky

Todd Dusosky is Minnesota Player who has proven to be a great Coerver Coach this year!! He, along with his twin brother Troy, were standouts at Anoka High School. All State players and ODP selections, Todd went on to play Professional Soccer for the Cleveland Crunch, Milwaukee Wave and the Minnesota Thunder.


Jake Borash

Played  for the clubs: North Branch Soccer Association and Lakes United FC (formerly known as Forest Lake Soccer Association) 4 years of high school for North Branch (2.5 years at varsity level in the North Suburban Conference; 2011  was the #1 keeper in the state for saves) and 4 years at the collegiate level at University of Minnesota Morris (started 2 years on varsity in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference; two time All-Conference).  Have GK 1 and 2 Diplomacy, and USSF  F license with  E soon to come.   Also have  MSHSL Coaching Education license in which he works with North Branch boys soccer. 


Steve Bellis

Steve Bellis has been a long time Coerver Coach and is currently the Head Womens Coach for D2 Concordia University in St. Paul. He was previously the Head Coach at Catherine’s Univerity and an Assistant at Macalester College. Patrick Stiner

Patrick is from Forest Lake Minnesota and represents Northwestern College in Soccer as a Varsity player. He coaches for Coerver on a regular basis and has proven to be a very popular trainer.

Sam Ross

Sam Ross is a graduate of Bemigii State University and specialized in Sports Science whist competing as a Varsity Player. She has had a short stint coaching at a D2 College in South Carolina, but is back in Minnesota now as a youth coach and a Coerver Trainer. Carl Craig

Carl has been coaching in the USA for the past 18 years and is a proud Geordie (from Newcastle – England). Carl holds an A License in both the USA and Europe and frequently teaches courses for the MYSA. Jay Moore

Jay has coached many MYSA teams in the past, has worked for many clubs as a skills trainer, as well as being a Coerver Trainer for the past four years. Donny Mark

Donny has been involved in Coerver Coaching since he was 9 years old. Chris Haggerty

Chris is an Englishman who has been directing the Forest Lake Soccer Club for the past few years. This year they merged with area clubs to form Lakes United with Chris at their helm. He has been ever present as Coerver Trainer for the past 6 years.

Tommy Kleczewski

Tommy is a former Macalester Player and is intricately involved with youth soccer in Minnesota. Two year ago, he and Jon Lowery started Keeper Konnection and it has gained a great reputation for training goalies year round. Tommy also coaches in the Edina Soccer Club.

Brian Kallman

Brian is a local player who rose from All-State at Woodbury High School to a dominant player at Creighton University to a Professional Player with the Minnesota Stars FC. A year round Coerver Coach is one of our most popular trainers.

Amelia Kasten

Amelia has been a Coerver Trainer for four years and has coached at high school (Edina, St Charles) and in Club Youth Soccer (Rochester, Edina ). She is a graduate of Winona State (All-American) and spent a year with the University of Minnesota. Amelia holds the USSF C License.

Luis O’Campo

Luis O’Campo is one of Minnesota’s most experienced Coerver Coaches. He is a native of Mexico and is now the Coaching Director for St. Louis Park Soccer Association. Luis holds his Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma which he attended in October 2011, and his USSF C License.

Josh Roy

Josh Roy has been an enthusiastic and dedicated Coerver Trainer for the past 4 years. Josh holds the Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma which he attended in April 2011. He is a coach and trainer for The Edina Soccer Club.

Kor Cha

Kor has been an outstanding Coerver Coach in Minnesota for several years. Kor holds he following soccer qualifications: NSCAA junior level VI diploma, USSF E certificate, MYSA Y module.  He was also a 3 year starter at Hamline university and has coached extensively at the high school and club level.

Ben LeVahn

Ben has been a loyal Coerver Trainer for several year, and completed his Coerver Youth Diploma last year. He is a full time teacher at Park Center High School and is the Head Girls Coach at Maple Grove High School.

Jason Jacob

Jason has a long history of successful soccer coaching in Minnesota as the Head Boys coach at Coon Rapids and at club level. He is currently the manager of the ADRENALINE SPORTS CENTER in Coon Rapids and helps promote Coerver in many ways for Coerver Minnesota, including our programming at the NSC in Blaine.
